Techni Ice - WONDERFUL!

Anything to do with camping, fundamentals, secrets, etc...

By the way,,..... if you google Techni Ice it gives you the Austrailian site, but there is a US distributor... but their sheets are about $4-$6 each sheet!!! The website gives lots of info. Says you can heat it too, and use as a heat pack for muscles., etc. Reusuable... the sheets when activated are 9"x13" or you cut them .

My friend said " oh, I got that at Walmart" well, no hers is the plastic ice cubes similar to the "blue ice" but don't stay frozen any better than a real ice cube.

My main reason for this is the way it will STAY cold and NO MESSY WATER or possible leaks etc

I pm'd Rayvillian about the thing he bought but they are out doing the retirement road trippin thang ....

Hey y'all... I just now got a pm back from Gary (Rayvillian) and here's the info he gave me.... The Roshgo has a 18.5" x 5 feet blanket of the stuff for about $10 and the cameron packaging has a 10 ft x 16" sheet for about $15 - I didnt' check shipping yet. Looks like that pricing is similar to the ebay seller of the techni ice.

Here is 2 links to 2 companies that do the ice packs. What we have is the Roshgo.

RoshGo

CameronPackaging

I haven't tried the second one yet but both of them are cheap.

I looked at those websites, but it looks to be about the same as the ebay seller on the thread here, but it didn't show the shipping charge right off and the ebay seller (mrsawl) includes shipping .

So I went ahead and order from the ebay listing !!! I had sent her an email to see if she had more than 1 lot of 12 sheets and would give reduced shipping... She replied fast and said yes, she put up a buy it now for 24 sheets and less shipping so I went for it. Still works out to about $2 per sheet, which is really not bad and cheaper than the Blue Ice blocks too.

I know this is an old old thread but I'm wondering if all you folks that bought this are still using Technice? Please post your results, I'd love to hear how well this stuff works.

I tossed mine out I didn.t think it lived up to all the hype. it sure didn't last longer then ice let alone 5 times and it took up a lot of space in my freezer.

I was very disappointed in it after I read all the hype.

Threw out the 10 sheets I bought. Ice in a 5-day cooler lasts longer than the techni-ice did in the same cooler. And...as it melted it seemed to "slime" everything. Hated it!

I just love this Techni Ice stuff.

I bought it, filled it up with water and then used it in my cooling box.

I just loved the result. My drinks stayed cold for a long time!!

Techni Ice is super!!

I threw away five sheets of it after a 2 day camping trip with a new 5 day cooler and stuff didn't stay cold, much less even ''cool'' .... frozen water in a ziploc bag would last longer. Don't know what I'll do with the other 10+ sheets I bought for friends..... ebay it I guess.

I don't know if it's the same, but while I was shopping at Target last month, I saw something that looks like this stuff in their camping department. I think it was about $3.00 a sheet. If I rember right, the sheets were rectangular, maybe a foot long...
Hope this helps, Canada.

Techni Ice

Postby Rhett » Sun Oct 21, 2007 11:03 pm

I take medication that needs to be refrigerated. The use these to ship the medication to the pharmacy. The pharmacist routinely throws these things away! Once I asked them, they started saving them for me.
