tear drop jewelry

Postby Eunice » Thu Jul 12, 2007 12:37 pm

I just did a new topic in "off topic" but it refers to Mendo.
I have contacted the man who made the teardrop jewlery and sold it at the dam gathering a few years ago. Everyone thought he had disappeared but his phone # and address are still current. He is sending his designs to me and I said that I would take it to Mendo for anyone interested. Donna has the jewelry and it is really nice.

Jim I can maybe make it happen, just need to get someone to cover me at the store...so let's just plan on it...Mike A said that he probably would also. Gage, sorry to hear that you won't make it, but hey, it's understandable. You've done a ton of miles this summer and not all of it under the most favorable weather conditions. Do you think you'd make it up to SLO in Sept? Doug

Hey Gage - I know I joined the forum a looooong time ago but I am a slow starter. The computer sometimes scares me so I give in and simply figure I won't try anything new. Gotta get braver in my old age. ( I either got braver or older and finally tried posting) Maybe somebody with a laptop at Mendo can give me a lesson on the finer points of the forum so I can learn how to do pix and such. :snappy: And, by the way, the Merc really does belong to Donn & I in spite of what the Eureka paper printed after Pamplingrove. And I never did make a mistake and call Donn by the name of Kevin. Sure hope you and Tanya can manage to make it to Mendo. teardrop hugs - Donna

Colleen and I are looking forward to seeing you again, Donna and Donn. We met at Pamplin Grove and had to walk through your camp every time we needed to use those lovely vault toilets. As I recall your tear had great bones, but it needed a galley and some other stuff. We're looking forward to see what you've done with it.
Our son loved your dogs.. then again he loved all the dogs at Pamplin Grove.

What are the dog reg.'s at Mendocino, anyway? It's doubtful we'll take our old mutt along, anyway. Twelve hours is a bit long for an animal that thinks a car ride means a trip to the vet. :vroom:

Mendo gathering

John T3 & Colleen - Yes, we were at Pamplin Grove but can't recall everyone we met there. You must have us confused with some other nice folks though because we don't have a dog. We were camped down at the bottom of the hill to the left when you went down the steps with the teal green '47 Merc. Anyway, we still look forward to seeing you at Mendo. teardrop hugs - Donna

Cabrillo Highlands Campground & North Coast Brewing Company

This will be my first time to come to this campground however think I have
passed this picturesque place on my maiden TearDrop voyage.

I am posting these pictures and information to firm uP where all the trailers
and forum friends will have to be to see many smiling faces in less than a
week. To meet overlooking the coast of beautiful Northern California will
bring pleasure to our senses for sure.

To hear the sea lions and smell the salty air as the fog horn from the light
house announces the nights covering, will bring memories to your mind
when you think back on this adventure.

Looking forward to seeing all you that will have the pleasure of letting
yourself come to the edge of California's beautiful Northern coast.

North Coast Voted Best Northern California Brewery.
The readers of the Northwest Brewing News just voted North Coast
Brewing the Best Brewery in Northern California. We’re really pleased
about this one. They also named Old Rasputin as the Best Imperial Stout.
The folks in the Northwest have had a head start on the rest of the country
where craft beers are concerned, so we think it’s a pretty knowledgeable
bunch….with great taste. Thanks, guys.

Question about route to take. Checked with usual online map guides and my GPS unit and they all sent me through the Bay Area on Hwy 580 up to catch Hwy 101. I dont want to go through extended city traffic if I can help it. One solution is to use 99 and I 5 then take Hwy 12 west. Is any one else coming up through the Central valley? If so how are you getting there?

Mary,
two options I would suggest, come up I5 to I80 head west to Vallejo and pick up 37 to 101, or come on up I5 to Williams and cut across 20 to 101, head north to Willits then pick up 20 again over to Fort Bragg.

Mary, Hwy 12 west will put you into Napa area. you can go north on Hwy29, thru calistoga, geyserville and over to 101. At cloverdale head west on 128 to Hwy 1 and a short hop up to Mendocino. it is all very nice and pretty 2-lane highways. hwy 12 from Rio Vista to suisun can be nasty, be prepared for lots of trucks, RV's, and passing lanes. i drive it a lot for work, and just plan to take my time.

I'm planning on bringing a kayak, and hope to put in at Albion and go out into the harbor. hope someone can join me. probably good wetsuit conditions. I'll see if mine still fits....best to do it saturday BEFORE the potluck!! ;)
A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour!

Coming from the North, what route would be recommended?
