A big stick of salami is something I usually take for snackin' on... but lately I've been doing prime ribs in the dutch oven, so have left the salami hangin' back at the store...
Dennis just treated us all to one of the finer things in life as far as snacks go... High end cheeses and breads/crackers.

Dean is right, I do tend to have some cheese on hand and more if there is great store nearby. Harvest Market in Fr Bragg was great. I usually have some nice green olives on hand too... in the proper liquid.
Living in a small trailer or a 50 year old trailer is no reason to give up the good things in life. :D
Believe me, no one enjoyed the cheese more than I did and I got to keep the left overs. Talk about win-win.

What a great weekend and the food... as Ira would say Oy Vay, There must have been over 20 dutch ovens on the table lead off by a giant prime rib. :applause:
Dennis

'Tain't campin' without coffee, but then again ... I'm not awake without coffee.

MIKE SCHN: Cinnamon Almonds, how-to, below:

Go to a good grocery store and buy yourself about a pound of bulk shelled almonds, or about 3 pounds of bulk almonds unshelled. (Equivalent weight of nutmeat; difference in overall price=labor cost).

Shelled almonds
Hot cast iron skillet
Butter
Cinnamon
Brown sugar

Melt butter in skillet, add almonds. Sprinkle liberally with a mixture of 1 part cinnamon to 2 parts brown sugar (I start with 1 tablespoon cinnamon), stir and toast over low heat about 10 minutes. Spoon out onto wax paper to cool.
Mopar's what my busted knuckles bleed, working on my 318s...

definitely s'mores but we make ours like a pie putting the broken graham crackers in a pie tin melting the marshmellow and pouring the melted chocolate over the top :picnic:
