I have found this supplyer of acrylic domes that may be able to be used for bubble windows: http://www.globalplastics.ca/products1.htm
I have emailed them and am waiting for a reply. I'll let you know what I hear.

I've got an old fiberglass trailer that uses something similar on the roof. Lets in light - but also gives you extra head-room in that spot. Something to consider...

Something else to consider...
...Acrylic (Plexiglass) is not going to stand the test of time.
My advice... If you go that route, go that way accepting the fact that they will be a maintenance issue at some point down the road.
If you need to go with some sort of platic, I'd reccomend going with a UV protective coated polycarbonate. (More $ though)

Hey Mwatters, do you have any pics or could you take some?

I've got photos of the trailer up at:

http://photos.yahoo.com/mdwatters727

It's in the folder "PlayPac", along with some photos of the progress on the trailer.

I can't say what the original is made out of - but if it's lasted well enough since 1972 - that's good enough for me.
