Everybody likes those E-Z up shelters for shade and rain protection. I may get one myself if I can get over the fact that they seem a bit modern when camping in a tear.
But what about using a great big market umbrella? I wonder if a bracket could be welded up and bolted to the side of the trailer near the galley so that all you have to do is drop the umbrella pole into the socket and you're good to go. No stakes, no ropes, just a pole in a bracket. Well, maybe a pin through the pole into the bracket. Waddayathink? Is somebody already doing this.
Maybe you could use small matching umbrellas over the entry doors to the sleeping cabin. This could provide shade in the day and maybe rain protection.
Most market umbrellas seem to be canvas and they would be heavy and maybe not too waterproof. But this idea seems to have merit. Unless the wind really picks up and rips those brackets right off of the side of the trailer! But I think it would work great. . .Maybe in a wind, you could just take it down. Anyway, waddayathink?
