Hello everyone,
I am new to the idea of Tear Drops. But I remember some of those articles in Mechanics Illustrated back in the '50's.
When I was a teenager in 1953, my Dad and my two brothers worked all one winter earning money by shoveling snow off sidewalks to buy a tent from Sears and Roebuck. (When my mom passed away in 2002, we sold that tent to a young fellow who restored old tents for $10. It only cost $39 in 1953.)
When my kids were young (4 of them) I bought a big 9 X 12 from Sears and we used that for camping for many years. We would always sneer at the big motor homes and 5th wheelers at the camp ground.
Then in 2001, I bought a motor home. (I am trying to whisper). My wife Patricia and I wanted to have something we could take to projects like hurricane relief, etc and volunteer for several weeks at a time.
But...... A 32 footer with a 454 engine is NOT economical for weekend trips to Michigan, etc.
So...I am now thinking of putting together a TD for those quick trips.
Sorry about the long winded post. Just wanted to let ya'l know that if you see a picture of my 32 footer in the background of my building project, that's the reason for it. When I retire again, we plan to use it for those weeks long stays at some location where I can help with building or electical.
I have done a fair amount of building and I am an electrical automation technician with a Tenn electricians license. I hope I can be of some help with questions about electrical problems.
