There, see how easy and fun that was?? Controlling the temperature is the key.

I've seen buttermilk biscuits made over a camp fire in a DO. They had to be turned once since all the heat came from the fire, but smothered in sausage gravy,-- WOW!!!

The cobbler looks good. This should be fun.

I got home and the wife had fried up some chicken in a cast iron skillet I think she's changing her mind because she swore never to use cast iron they were only used for cornbread up until now.
 she's falling into my trap first the camping now the cast iron, I love it when a plan comes together

Scott, You have my mouth watering with that picture of the cobler. Looks delicious.

Kurt, That's my plan for biscuits and gravey. I have made biscuits in the DO several times and they come out golden brown without turning. I keep the DO out of the fire and just put a few coals under the DO with most of the coals on top. I cheat though and use Pillsbury biscuits out of the can. I hope everyone is patient for breakfast cause I don't know how fast I can make a second batch if needed.

Good News!

I just looked at the schedule and the Colt's don't play till 4:05 Sunday October 7. That gives us more time before everyone needs to head home. :)

Wow, this affair has grown into a real happening. We have been gone for three weeks, and it has really come togeether in that time. Rose has volunteered to whip up some of her world famous(or almost world famous) sausage gravy for breakfast one or both days. There seems to be a pretty good menu outline laid out, and we will bring things that work with it. We drove past the Salamonie Reservoir exit on I-69 today, and it looks like about two hours from the south side of Indy. We'll see y'all on Friday.

Thanks John and Rose. We should have some interesting breakfasts. I could have waffles with sausage gravy on them for a special treat.

We will improvise as we go and we can dicuss a plan on Friday night so Saturday breakfast will be fantastic.

I'm getting hungry already. :applause:

Less than a week to go. I think I can smell the waffles and the gravy already! We just got done "camping" at my boss's place for the night, it was a great time to use the camper. We all went to the car show and then came back to play cards. Anybody else like to play cards? Just wondering... I am looking forward to this upcoming weekend so much! Can't wait to meet ya'll. Have a great day tomorrow.

The wife and I dabble in Euchre. We'd love to play cards. Never played hearts or Contract thingy. We'll have to learn. Sounds fun.

I hear it is supposed to be back in the 80's this weekend. I was hopeing for some nice cool fall weather. At least there is no rain in the forcast. 8)

Cindi & I have been known to play Euchre from time to time but she complains about my method of play.

Does Euchre and beer make a good combination?
