Crank Out Style Windows

Postby Classic Finn » Mon Dec 03, 2007 6:25 am

I have a question. Where are the crank out vintage windows made?
Are they Dot Approved?

Are they made in China or? Made in the USA?

I don't know the PRICE, but this window certainly is apropos for 'us'.......
(BTW - I found this on the http://www.creationwindows.com/ site)

"Designed to resolve leak problems inherent in traditional sliding windows, this new design incorporates a twin-arm opening system allowing
the window to shed water efficiently, improve ventilation and seal. The twin-arm bonded window is a sleek original- equipment alternative to the
traditional sleeper cab slider window."

That would look great on a TD. Almost matches my profile.

I bet you could go to a junkyard and buy the back side windows from a minivan that pop out a couple of inches... just a thought (I'm cheap)

Frank Bear/Teardrop Crank Window

Postby Alfred » Mon Dec 03, 2007 2:14 pm

Frank Bear is also a good source for Teardrop Crank Windows. He has an EBAY store.

I'm pretty sure he has the same ones that Grant has...I've bought them from RW before and they are identical to Grants, he may contract to buy in bulk from his supplier, but I've been to his place...he's not manufacturing any parts, just retailing them. Doug

They did seal very good as long as you latched them down.

PS: I did a salvage run and got some Crank-out camper windows from a dismantaled camper off a truck.

Yup ...

... made right here in the good ol' US of A ... and, yup ... Frank Bear, RW Johnson, me, and a few others all get our windows from the same source. Believe me ... there's no such thing as "bulk pricing" with these guys! We is small potatoes compared to Fleetwood and others like 'em ...

I've looked into this one! They're exclusive to Kennworth and Peterbuilt trucks, and yes you can get a couple from your local dealer ... if you've got a wholesale/resale number, you're a bonafide & authorized truck repair facility, and your pockets are really deep! ... like $400.00 each deep! Oh, and ... they're 30" long, folks ...

I could sure see a pair in my Campster12, though ...
