Little Guy 6'-wide teardrop

To make camp setup and departure as efficient as possible, today I ordered two items: Owens Products tongue box 48"x18"x16.5" It's 1/2" too deep for the LG platform but I'll figure that out. Also ordered the Valley Industries hitch cargo carrier (in part to offset the additional tongue weight -- I don't have cabinetry so the rear is light). Already have the Cabelas's hitch cargo bag which is cavernous and, judging from the torrential rains it endured this past weekend: waterproof.

I hope to have it all installed by Memorial Weekend.

Hand it to Cabela's: the cargo carrier arrived today -- just 48 hours after ordering it!!

It's rather large.

Will do. My tear has no cabinetry so I gain some leeway there. And I figured the cargo carrier would somewhat offset the tongue box (which supposedly weighs 32 pounds empty).

Will definately be checking the tongue weight before driving away.

Had another great weekend. The hitch-mounted cargo carrier will be great just as soon as I replace the too-big hitch pin that came with it. Hopefully the tongue box will arrive in the next couple days.

Also had immersion into the teardrop tour phenomenon. Am going to ask Little Guy for more brochures. At this pace, I'll run out in a few weeks.

Another small camp project was mounting two steel First Aid kits I'd purchased from www.duluthtrading.com One is mostly bandages and the other is various ointments -- burns, poison ivy, antibiotic, iodine. These are very nice, quite hefty steel.

Always enjoy your pics hikerchick! Just beautiful. Keep me informed as to the fit of your tongue box. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and sure hope you have the same 3/8 inch additional width on your platform like I do and a slight tapering of your box so that it will fit.

It will probably arrive today or tomorrow. Unfortunately, the teardrop is 90 miles away so won't do the install before the weekend.

Did thorough measurements this last weekend and think I have a plan if it won't fit.

The tongue box arrived last Friday so kudos to Summit Racing for the 3-day delivery. And they charged only $11 for the delivery!

I'm delighted with it. Fit and finish look very nice. And a bonus is that it is lighter than expected. Summit Racing had said it would weigh 32 pounds. That's way off. So I think Cabela's was correct (they sell the polished version) and it weighs just 17 pounds.

I measured it and it is 3/8" too deep for the platform. Not a problem as I'll be going to Home Depot to have some treated wood cut to mount it on.

Can hardly stand to wait until the weekend. While the motive was storage space I think it's going to aesthetically enhance the teardrop, too. Will, of course, post pics of it ASAP.

She agrees with you. This weekend she was sporting a bright green harness and bright red leash. The jury was out on whether she looked Christmassy or an ode to Italy's flag.

Longest trip yet over Memorial week. 8 days. Put the tongue storage box on and it works great -- love that organizing space. Will be camping again in the next couple weeks and will paint the wood it's mounted on black. Used the rear cargo carrier for the screenroom. However, it's not fitting well in the receiver -- way too much play.

My other trailer, a bike dog trailer, also had a good workout. Used it to run errands, haul firewood and ice. When Gidget's older she'll be getting some rides in it, too.
