I lucked into one good find and made a purchase as well.

First, my neighbor who knows about what I am building asked me if I could use this:

a square D breaker box with 2 15 amp breakers installed for free... heck yes I can use it.

Then I had to make a stop at A&A auto for some other items, and came across this:

I didn't want a "Frankenstein" type blade switch, and when I stumbled across this I thought it was perfect what with my kids etc....
It's a battery cutoff switch that uses a plastic key to turn it on-off.

$9.99 plus tax.... not too bad.
I can install it right in my panel, and not have to go to the battery (which will be tucked away) to kill the power.

Mat,
I'm up in Harding... the tear isn't ready to go down the road yet, but soon.

I will be down in W-B this week.... I'll stop in.

I used that exact same switch and mounted it into the face of a black project box from Radio Shack that contains my fuse blocks and ground bars (isolated and taped of course). Turning off my power is as easy as turning the key. I also hung the key on a string so it could never be lost.
