Need Help with used Fantastic Vent

Postby Yoyoman » Wed Jul 02, 2008 4:49 pm

Hi All;
I am ready to install the used Fantastic Vent Model 2000DMB which I bought in the spring.
The Power red/black and negative white are nicely labeled. So no problem there.
It comes with two orange cables. When I short them the unit will open and the fan will run on the selected speed. So I figure it's working.

The trouble is what kind of switch should I put between the orange wires and where do you mount it. I thought that all the controls would be on the unit itself. I will try to attach a picture in this message. If I can't figure it out please check in my album.

thanks

Hi Mike;

thanks for the link. :thinking:
I had looked at the website briefly, guess what it realy does help...sometimes... to read instructions.
So what I am missing is the buttons refered to as Number 2 and 4.
It is a used unit so I did not get all the bits. I will call the 800 number to see if they can shed some light on the missing bits.

Norbert :)

Fantastic Vent is one of the most customer friendly companies that I have dealt with. If you call them with problems, they will usually send you whatever parts it takes to repair your vent at no charge. Sometimes when the vent in question is obsolete, they will even send you a complete assembly to replace it with. Give them a call, you might be surprised. :thumbsup:

Called Fantastic

I called them and they sent me the missing switch. I than modified the unit to have the switch installed in the unit and not in the wall. I forgot to ask about the trim piece.[img]
