FYI - in Google's ongoing attempt to assimilate all knowledge

they've now reached agreement to allow all of the old Popular Science & Popular Mechanics to be viewed online

(couldn't find Mechanix Illustrated - so I guess they're still in discussion)

That's neat I was aware that Google were doing something because....
if you click on the link and then enter "Walk Awhile With Me"...should bring up "Walk Awhile With Me" by Philip Morgan (Limited Preview) Click on the image on the left and it takes you to a preview of contents
....on the right go to bookstore....click on Amazon and that's the front cover. :woohoo: It was published a few months ago but only just became available through Amazon. I have 3 more in the works at different stages, Matthew, Luke and John.....

I remember when I was a kid - I discovered a box with years of old Popular Science - I felt like I found a gold mine I read non-stop for weeks.

kinda felt like that again. :)

what a gold mine.... wonder if this will hurt ebay sales of all the peeps selling these plans. Now they are being given away from the original source. :)

I hunted down the original midget plans and there they are, clear as a bell. I know they are up there in the vintage plans link, but zooming in makes hard to read numbers.

The following should take ya right to them if interested. Popular Mechanics 1940 February edition.

Very cool resource, ain't it amazing how things we think as modern were thought of so long ago, e.g.

Inflatable roof (sorry you have too look sideways at this one!)

Liked these too:

I can see many hours at the PC looking through these......... Damn you Google!

I looked at the June 1961 issue (my birth month/year), and they had a Towhee camper in it. It was a Teardrop style clamshell camper. Pretty cool.

Wow, all of those magazines to read. I spent the last hour just flipping through pages of the 1920 mags. Great find, thanks.
