Hey Mike,

I didn't cast a vote yet, Because I don't know what category my 56 falls into.

It is kinda like a Canned Ham Tear??? Or as I call it a "Tear Can".

You have more experience than I in this matter, what would you call it?

Interesting poll.... first, thank you, Andrew. I've not visited your site for a while and saw the profiles page. very nice.

I went with the Grumman shape because:

It allowed accessible space at the bottom of the galley for the battery, microwave, petcool and storage under the counter with its more mild curve at the bottom of the back....

You don't have to kill your shins to reach the counter space.

I liked the profile best overall.

it gave me the low profile I wanted.

It is about the most aerodynamic of them all.

I really think the Modernistic profile is the prettiest, most classic style but I also like the Grumman II. Maybe that is why my 2008 Guffman homebuilt is kind of a hybrid of those two profiles!! I voted for the Mod.

Jerome

My all time favorite is the original Modernistic.

1 - Modernistic
2 - Slumbercoach

Special Mention - Doug's American Tear

I didn't build a classic profile, but if I ever embark on another build it will be a classic profile.

I like the profile of the Modernistic best. Kit pulls a close second place. Due to their aluminum structure and natural waterproofing, Modernistics not only look good today but they will generally look good 100 years from now. Any design that can weather 62 years in the elements and still roll down the highway is BEAUTIFUL to me....... :)

1. Modernistic
2. Kit

The base camp by airstream is my favorite
Image

and Tvan still has posabilities but it is an odd bloook
Image

even Doug's Voyager offers a chenge from the norm.
as did his Rockettear.

but I even get excitted by the 1938 Cuttis-Aerocar pulled by an even stranger car.
[img]http://easy-teardrop-plans.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/1938-curtiss-aerocar.jpg
[/img]
and new ideas like this little Guy being pull backward
Image

I can find many more but I did see one teardrop with the top lifted up and a tent extended the roof line.

What next.
as the pulling units change so will what they pull.
Image

The teardrop of the future might be just like one in every way.
round front pointed in the back. Shinny like water.

Don't see it in the poll, but the Jim Dandy Sportsman is still my favorite.

Though obviously in the minority I choose the Kit. It just has a look that I like even though I built a Generic Benroy (modified to suit my self LOL). The Kit just says Tear Drop to me. Now if I could figure out how to design a 6x10 standy with a take off of the kit and a pull out galley in back I would be a happy camper.
