Thanks for dropping by, looks like a very good begining you have going there on the roswell. Have you found this thread http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?t=13571&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=roswell&start=0
Check out the galley on the second or third page. I sarted a couple of threads on the roswell before I began building.

Another month and a half. Jan and Feb tend to be the coldest months back home.

galley hatch

Postby dandan » Sat Mar 14, 2009 5:51 pm

Hi Del,

you are a catalist to a sub-division of outrageous builds !
(Not wishing to detract from other sane builds)
in years to come, people will probably look on these
archives & say "they really were totally bonkers!"

i reckon on wimping out of the galley hatch in my build.
the greif of putting one in out-weighs the benifit of gained space.
well, the space is allways there, just accessed from the inside.
there will be an interior bulk-head of some sort.
gonna have to make a vented compartment for the lesure batteries.
seem to remember my time in the RAF being pre-occupied with hydrogen venting
from wet-cell batteries. Nowdays they are fully sealed but still a big no-no in my book !

haven't been across the pond in 15 years.
if i get over again, would like to meet you in person.
if you ever get over to the UK or Europe, let me know.

best rgds dan.

Dandan if you ever meet me, you will be positive I am bonkers.

Dan there are two things on this build I have never regreted, brakes and the gally under the hatch. The battery is in the galley under the counter, and not vented into the cabin. Do note my jelly belly is about a foot longer than the roswell.

As far as reaching the UK, it is on my bucket list, along with meeting the engineer who came up with working drawings (fairly certain I owe him more than a few pints).

Hi Del,
thanks for the advice.
will re-think the galley buisness closer to completion if time isn't an issue.
just think the fitting out bit will be a right pain.
gonna have to insulate it or it's gonna be the biggest heat-sink since the ice-age.
it certianly would be some p*ss up if we ever got together with Andy in the same boozer !
:guzzle: :guzzle: :guzzle:
we will see.

best rgds Dan.

Hi folks, safe at home now. To anyone who thinks expanding foam is a good idea.
Image
31 cans of foam

Found new wheels, if I have the winning bid.

I did run into a couple of snags on the journey. One was a loose connection at the battery in the trailer. Of coarse with the awning tied to the top, I could not open the hatch, to find or fix the problem. grrr.

My 8" tyres are worn out after two seasons. I ran 25psi to 30psi the first year, and wore the outside of the tread. This year I over compensated and jumped up to 45 or 50psi, and you guessed it wore out the inside tread. grrrrrrr Next year I think I will try 40psi.

Two years of wear on 8" tyres.

I did get these rims, winning bid $20. Three rims just like this one, an axle, and two other mix matched rims.

Now I just have to go to Kansas to pick them up (less than two hours from Minden  ). Minden in June, hopefully (if they will let my jelly belly in a tear gathering).

Well I bit the bullet, and sent off my registration to IRG3. So now I need to get miss jelly belly ready. First order of business shade, or a place to mount the shade.

Next time redneck awnings 101.
