I'm in site #100. I can't believe how fast the sites are being filled. Looks like anyone wanting to attend should reserve now.

Your not kidding. With so many sites taken, it makes it look like the gathering is next week, not in September!

Great to have both you, Randy and Tim. :applause:

We couldn't believe how fast they are filling also. wow!!!
Glad we kept an eye on it and hopefully everyone wanting to come will get a site. There are some sites left in another loop that isn't too far away but again not many sites left to reserve there either. Something must be happening that weekend. I know in the months from memorial weekend to labor day it's almost impossible to get in for a weekend, that's why we chose the weekend after labor day.

Cool . . . we'll have "double Labs" to fend off Lori's vicious attack poodles . . .

The poodles are fine. It's the Chihuahua they will have to watch out for. He beat up Baron the first time they met. After he got used to Baron, they got along just fine.

can tent campers come to this? They have tent camping sites right next to your loop. I dont have a tear yet, but would like to go to a gathering.

Are pets allowed?

Sure !!! Any way you want to camp will fit in with this crowd . . . We all end up around a campfire and the raccoons take over the Teardrops anyways.

Also, I believe pets/dogs are a requirement

I'm bringing my dog and the girl with the smallest teardrop (Miss Dianne) brings the most dogs (3 big ones) . . . go figure.

Awesome, I have a small small dog, but I was reading there were poodles coming.

Tent camping is only 10 dollars a night, so maybe i'll sign up. Gives me a little bit of time to figure out what supplies I need because I have nothing. Will there be a potluck one night?

Glad you decided to take the plunge and join us! We do have a lot of fun and most of us are seasoned campers, so we can help with any questions. Just start with the basics (tent, sleeping bag (maybe an air mattress with either a hand pump or DC powered pump), pillow, flashlight, cooler with food/drinks, some basic cooking & eating utensils, lighter/matches, camp chair, bug juice, clothes) and add things as you find you need them.

Oh, yes, and you will need to bring an appetite and a good sense of humor, too, cuz we do eat and laugh a lot together.

Look forward to meeting & camping with you! :D

hello

Postby tjx » Mon Aug 10, 2009 8:48 pm

Amy,

Welcome to the gathering. As we, Jerry and I (Tina) are hosting, we are glad to have you! :applause: Thanks Betsey and Mike for answering questions...we just got back from 2 weeks in Colorado jeeping.

As Betsey included a nice list of general items to bring, I won't. But yes, on Saturday everyone usually puts food all together for potluck. Please feel free to keep it simple and whatever is easy for you.

This is a good group of people to camp with and you will have a great time. Everyone is very helpful and if you need any help with your tent, etc... someone will pitch in and help out.

Looking forward to meeting you,
Tina and Jerry
