I use an Audi crossover. It is about the size of a Subaru Outback. It functions like a wagon most of the time, but I can do mild offroad driving if I need to.
I prefer it to an SUV for comfort and handling reasons.
If you like Buicks, they have some nice vehicles now. Very competitive with Lexus, IMO. The Enclave is considered a crossover, and I had one for a week (I get press cars for my occupation), and I liked it. It's a bit big for my tastes, but drove nicely. There may be some loyalty deals available -- not sure.
I like some of Subaru's line-up, and also like the Saturn VUE.
The Ford Escape sells well, and gets good revues. Not my cup of tea, but worth considering.
Those are just a few that jump to mind, based on what you currently drive. Going from Buick to Jeep is a pretty major change, IMO.
