Kenskill Plans

Postby Casper Allen » Fri Aug 20, 2004 3:40 pm

I am wanting to build a Kenskill style tear, but am having trouble finding plans. I have found a place that sells Kenskill kits, but no plans. I am primarily interested in frame dimensions, axle location and body shape. Does anyone know where I could find plans or this information? I think I can come up with the body shape if need be. Any help would be appreciated.

A lot of questions are about doors/windows, etc... do any of these plans give good directions about sealing doors and some of the critical things of that nature...

btw, finally found some windows at JCWhitney after about an hour's searching...

I thought finding van windows would be a breeze, but mostly I found custom window makers.... too many $$... it would bring me to tears/g/.

Buford's right, Rick!

Check out my site - www.teardrops.net/LilBear/plans.html
All you have to do is send me 10' of 4' wide butcher paper, craft paper, or the like (along with return postage), and I'll get it back to you in a couple of weeks or so, maybe less (I've gotta clear floorspace in my shop to lay the paper out, and with a couple of trailers going at a time, I can't always get to it real quickly!) . I've got the patterns for Ken-Skill, Modernistic/Cub, Benroy, KIT, and my own 8' & 10' Li'l Bears, and they all show axle location, door & window location, Galley Lid Hinge Point, and cabinetry layout. If you ask when you send the paper, I'll even throw in a chassis drawing that any competent welder can follow to build you a frame. If you can't find the paper, send me $30 and I'll provide it, the shipping tube, and postage.

There's my plug for the month ... ;-} ;-} ...!

P.S. For those who have not used Grant's services for this you are really missing out. He does a great job. Easy to follow.
And with the help of others on this board and websites. You can build a tear without plans.

I have a question about these profiles...

Postby Laredo » Sat Aug 21, 2004 1:23 pm

that has probably been answered a million times and I just can't find it.
Okay, actually, two questions.

1. Is PayPal an option?
2. The original dimensions of the modernistic/cub are 4x8, right?

Wow, you dusted off an old thread! However the Kenskill is a nice design... http://www.nicksteardrop.com/47k.htm

I wonder if you could talk Angib into doing a cad drawing?

LOL, yeah. This thread came up when I did a google search for kenskill trailer frame plans. Maybe i'll just keep looking to buy a kenskill trailer, but they are very far and in between! I may get lucky one day! 8)
