I did the same thing but with stainless screws. I really wanted something that looked more like a rivet but from a few feet away, the screws look great.

If you look close, you can see a line of screws across the front and down the side.

Since you will have painted "nose art" why not painted rivets?

Or if you get the nose art made from vinal stick ons the the rivits can be stick on as well

not the real thing and you may not like the painted or vinal ones and want the feel of real rivits.

just a thought.

Have a customer that wants this camper, so bomber tear is put on hold.

I am using 3/4" Baltic Birch for the walls.

I stock the screws. They are actually Nichols aluminum twist nails, $9.95 a 1/4 lb box

I have installed blocking in the front wall, made a note of the dimensions, and the box will sit on the tongue, and attach to the blocking thru the top skin, as well as the framing along the bottom of the front wall.
