Jawbone:
I heard that with global warming and such that the lake is much smaller now...the hike around it should be a lot quicker. Hope you can convince Brenda (just let me know if you need any more ammo to shoot your feet).
Hope you can make it.

Mountainbiker:
Be great to meet with you if you can make it.
Maybe a fireside on Saturday night if we have a group (I'll make cake). Have to figure out how to make the icecream...

Glampergirl:
Glad to hear you and mountainbiker are coming out. I too am looking forward to the camping season.

Jawbone:
One less campsite...better hurry before they're all gone.

Did I mention that it's permissible to bring alcohol to the provincial parks at that time of year?

Spring Camp-In TearJerkers

Postby Richard S » Mon Mar 07, 2011 5:20 pm

TearJerkers here in Manitoba suggest participation in the annual TearJerkers Spring Camp-In, March 19 & 20th. In 2010 Winnipeg was pretty warm and if you check my album page you can see just how HOTt it got by 2PM. We did not have a snow flake on the ground! This year I think we are looking at night time lows of (-15ºF) -26ºC so the day time is going to be cold! No mosquito problems though. As Director, I hope to go up to Birds Hill Prov Park if the roads are dry, if not it will be the driveway again.

2011 spring plans

Rich:
Not sure that camping on March 19th constitutes Spring camping...especially in Winnipeg (but I guess it is a way to beat the mosquitoes). Besides, in order to be there I would have had to leave two days ago.

Like the look of your camper. Nice to see a homebuilt woody standing up to use and not breaking down. I've only got a couple of thousand miles on mine, and she seems to be holding up fairly well (except for a bit of fade on the stained front and roof where the sunlight hits directly).

Wow. Sounds like your whole summer is all planned out. I'm not usually that organized...just hope to join in on something that looks interesting.
Maybe get a chance to meet with you somewhere on the road.
