TV

Another question being I am moving along with the restoration project. I decided to use the spaced that was once used for the galley to give me more space in the cabin, but after installing my water tank I still think it is very limited, with everything I still hope to install. I still have to install a area to put mu C-Pap machine , I want a TV that is not to small to see, and my stereo. I was also hoping to have some space to store my gear.

My question what type of TV are most of you using? I was thinking about getting a 12 to 13 inch color TV, but doubt I will have enough room. I also thought I could save some space and get one of those flip down TV, but think they are too expensive and something that would be attractive to thieves that is why I will Be installing a removal face Radio CD player.
Since installing my water tank I have only 12" to install it. I could build a shelve that drops below that self I guess, but it might look odd. Suggestions?

Don't count out the flip down flat panel. The prices are really coming down on them, of course the larger ones are still expensive. They have several benefits over a tube type: lower power consumption, smaller, lighter, and more sturdy (since they are designed to be installed in cars).

Click on "Mobile Video" on this website: http://www.partsexpress.com They aren't the cheapest or the most expensive. It will give you a good idea of what their prices are.

A few places I looked
http://www.qualitymobilevideo.com/botto ... ision.html
http://www.roadtrucker.com/electronics-4.htm (lots of cool stuff here)
http://www.roadtrucker.com/12-volt-tv-d ... player.htm (the one I am looking at)
Not to mention that I did see a few 9" 12 volt/AC/DC DVD combo tv's at Walmart! Can't remember the price though ($150 maybe).

We purchased a Orion 9" TV with DVD player from Walmart for around $160. Works fine in the teardrop; very clear picture and good sound.

I have 2 TVs in my teardrop.

One is a 4" Casio, very small and light. Works well and uses very little power.

The other is my laptop computer with an AverTV PC card. It works amazingly well and also functions as a video recorder. Price was $50.00. I've been using this setup as the main TV in my house for the last several months.

Bought a 7.5 ac/dc flip down under the counter mount for our TD from Sam's Club. We use a velcro strap to secure the screen in place white traveling. Read on this site that the screens can release while traveling and can be damaged.

After 2000 miles bouncing around, still works good. Also plays CD's and DVD's.
Cost around $200.00.

I bought this TV/VCR a couple years ago for $89 and when playing tapes it draws 3/amps. Have watched movies every night for a week without draining the tear's Group 24 battery. When it's nice at night I like to put it on the stove drawer, pull up a chair and the snacks aren't far either.

My problem now is I've started buying DVDs instead of tapes. I'll bet I'm not the only one with that consideration either. Does anyone know of an AC/DC television with VHS and DVD? I can find either/or and can find a TV with both but only AC power.

I don't think I've seen the 9". We purchased a Sanyo 13". It's 12 1/2" high and 14" deep. We didn't get one with built in DVD. They have small DVD players for under $50, and a really small, basic DVD by Magnavox for $33.44. I'm thinking of installing a Wineguard RV3095 pop-up amplified TV antenna. You raise it and turn it from inside the trailer.

All I want is a 17", Plasma Screen, AC/DC, TV/DVD player. $> Of course, I don't want to pay much for it. :laughter:

The tension between what is good enough and what is beyond that creates the space for character to become our work.
