Er, I noticed there's not a lot of activity here... So i just thought I'd mention the thing we have going in "thrifty alternatives" .... Foam and fabric construction ... :o No reason it wouldn't work for most any Standy .. just use bigger foam ... Light and easy !!! just crumbs for thought ...

You mean building with pink foam. Sure! Especially if you know fiberglass!

Well, we Know fiberglass ... :o That's why we're NOT using it ... This is a canvas , applied with TT2-3, then painted ... old school meets Foam ...

And along comes yet another idea .... A Standy that can be 6'+ tall inside and fit in a regular Garage ... Saw another members pic of his boat , gave me this idea ... A TD , with a Boat top ... sorta like a "convertible " top on a car ... Raise the top like on a boat ... or a tent , lower it to fit in the garage ... just like the boat eh ???

It's the solution I've been searching for ... Schmaybe'

if you feel like sharing I might have a solution and I'm in desperate need of a temporary project to think about waiting for warmer weather and it to finally be done with winter

what if you combined this convertable style with the foam one it would definitely be light weight

That would work ... Pretty easy to do too ...and still be Light ... The TD would be the standard height ...4'... so off the shelf materials would be readily available ...
The top would require some sewing skills ... Depending how exotic you want to make it ...Maybe some Velcro on plastic windows for convenience ... eliminating the need for most windows in the TD ...
