Fender Guard or Bra -On Arizona Teardrop Site

Postby Classic Finn » Mon Feb 06, 2006 8:01 pm

I just happened to be on the Arizona Teardrop Gallery looking at all the interesting tears there and accidentally ran into - I guess it maybe a
set of Kit Fenders on one of them.. And on the fenders was a guard or bra made of some material - maybe vinyl or????

Well maybe this will help or find the owner -plate NH 6124

Inside Galley it says Hot Rod Hilton.... :D With coffee not quite ready...

Does anyone know who makes them and where we maybe able to order such?

PS no idea as to whos nice looking tear it may be...

All the ones that I have seen have been self made. Some (most) out of bra material and some out of alum sht. No mfg that I know of. I've been looking into a protective film like what they apply to the front of BMW's and such. Example: Venture Tape at http://www.venturetape.com/ventureshield/

Have a good day.

I've found that the 3M "clear bra" film will prevent small stone chips, but any larger rocks (1/2"+/- and up) will dent the aluminum (front of the tear/tongue box)even WITH the film.

re. FENDERS, I have it on the front of my F-glass ones & so far, so good.

The 3M film is GREAT stuff - I've had it on the front of my wife's Maxima since '99 (136K mi.) & it's still goin' strong.

Kurt alumuinum is soft so it will dent. My fibreglass fenders took a beating before putting on the clear mask. Thats why you don't go around knocking on cobra cars to see if there fibreglass or alumuinum. The owners would have a heart attack on a real cobra. Thought I just throw that in case anyone attends car shows, i see alot of people knocking on car fenders to see if there metal or fibreglass not knowing some cars are alumuinum.

He's in Long Beach, CA. That's where I had the bra for my '56 made. It's not a big shop. How about that. I'll have to try and contact him and see what he can do for the fenders. I'll bet he's never done anything for just rear fenders, but then again maybe he has.

Have a good day.
