Plans, Thoughts, Ramblings & Musings on What Could be Grant’s Last Teardrop Build

The very nature of the Universe, itself, is change! I don’t know, exactly, who first said it, but truer words, IMHO, have never been spoken. Additionally, Dr. Suess once said that “those who matter don’t mind, and those who mind don’t matter.â€

Grant, change is what keeps us going..........
life style change is the biggest our wants and needs change
when I was young I had many motorcyles not now
I also have owned 3 airplanes not now
I have owned 4 boats not now
too many trailers campers to remember not now
when I find the cargo trailer I want I will change again
so if a 14 foot trailer is what you want I'm happy for you it's your life.

Wooden Boat is one of my favorite magazines, though I've not seen one in quite a while. Somehow, teardrops took the place of boats, except for fishing.
Looking forward to seeing how you incorporate a pilot house in a teardrop.

can't wait to see your design if it's anything like the original I'm sure I'll like

I'll be watching with interest.

Is the 'Pilot House' a bit of cabin that sticks up and provides trouser(pants)-putting-on height? It always struck me as a bit wasteful that folks tow around 7 foot high trailers when for 99% of the time inside them they're sitting down.

Hi Grant
the PHd could stand for "Doctorate" as you have probably earned the noble designation, "Doctor of Teardrops" after having built so many.

I'm a newbie. Been mostly lurking for most of a year but I'm beginning my TTT build. Mine too will be 14 ft. It just took that length to incorporate everything on my 'must have' list. I look forward to seeing your design,

O.K., so I’ve got a little time to write a little more ... let’s review a bit, shall we?

This is where it all started, the original Campster12 concept drawings:

The original idea was to design a teardrop that would sleep a family of four reasonably comfortably. Over a period of several months, Andrew Gibbons & I refined the design a bit more and came up with the “plansâ€

Very interesting... looking forward to seeing more. After building my vardo a friend approached me asking about something that could sleep 4 and be towed by a 6cyl.... hmmmmm
