Caprock Canyon POT LUCK Dinner

Postby CASHCOW » Mon May 30, 2011 9:54 am

OK...itis getting that time to start thinking about POT LUCK DINNER for Saturday night at Caprock Canyon.

Idont know how to make this a STICkY, so if someone can do that or tell me how, then we can get it up and running.

McAnears will be doing Brisket and probably a cobbler

We will be needing some extra tables as well. We have one long table that we will bring.

We probably will NOT be able to have fires due to the HUGE burn bans across the State, but we can find out more as we get closer. Last year the Ranger said they hadnt had a burn ban in "YEARS" but I cant imagine them not having one this year. DRY DRY DRY.

Feel free to PM Mike or Justin if you have any questions.

Burn ban in effect -- propane stoves only:

Here's the direct link to the county's weather forecast:

It's very dry in West Texas this year. Very very very dry.

I haven't had the heart to go up to Caprock Canyons since February.

Here's what's going on, wildfires-wise, in Texas:

Somebody ought to stop at the Lowe's in Quitaque and either pick up some Julio's tortilla chips and salsa, or the makings ... although, come to think of it, Quitaque might not have Julio's.

The makings, now ... corn tortillas, peppers, tomatoes, cilantro, onion, a lime or two to juice ... oh, and either cooking spray and a toaster oven, or a Fry Daddy and some oil....

:worship: :worship: Welllllllllllllllllllllllllll,, the salmon balls and corn fritters will be great. :applause: :applause:

But the Falafels.....I think there is a ban on them because the wildlife has asked that "unsafe" food not be allowed.

Especially the armadillos and racoons! When their cousins at Palo Duro Canyon heard we were coming to CCanyon, they told the rangers to get their cousins a message as fast as they could.... BAN the FALAFELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;) :o
