When you got to go

There is a world, just beyond now,
where reality runs a razor thin seam between fact and possibility;

Anywhere I roam where I lay my head is home....

Did you notice that, in picture #9, the artist appears to have drawn a naked woman?

Ok Ok I looked. It is weirdly out of place.

I think I am just going to stay with my nice clean flush system that I would have to pay for anyway. 8)

You could use rotted sawdust or whatever with a Luggable Loo and get the same results without needing a wooden box or the mounting of a toilet seat and without the worry of getting wood splinters in your legs.

One can tell that drawing #9 was intentionally done that way because the artist took the time to add a navel to the model's picture. I'm not certain what the publisher of that article was trying to do. After seeing those pictures, I wouldn't trust anything the guy does.

I was thinking about how others have wanted to have a toilet for their trailers and thought more of the idea of a portable version that can be placed in a side tent kinda like your own personal outhouse

Thanks for posting the topic droid. It's good to reintroduce it time
to time as it's a very practical solution for an unavoidable necessity.
I'll probably make one for use this summer in a seasonal camping
circumstance without any services available - and put it in a side-tent
or some similar enclosure like you were suggesting.

The wooden 'box' design has its wood finished like furniture as they are
a 'permanent' installation. A portable one could be made of something
lighter in order to be easier to transport if you want to try some other
design. [Some people have repurposed an invalid adult 'potty chair' into
use for this.] The plywood box was chosen for its simplicity, availability,
support capability and reasonable cost.

And don't be "put off" by the "naked lady" in panel 9 of that one illustration.
The original book was put out in the 1970s [if I recall correctly], in the
midst of the "hippy era" and the 'back to the land movement' era. It is
nothing more than a joke, to see if anyone is paying attention. Nothing
at all is "shown" and it is more akin to "Where's Waldo", than anything else.

Cheers,
Norm/mezmo

Looks like it would work fine. If modesty is not your problem then don't forget the Bumper Dumper. http://www.bumperdumper.com/ I go Jeeping with a couple that the wife has MS. They use the bumper dumper. She can't scurry off into the woods while we are running the trails all day. He has rigged up a tarp system to give her privacy when the need arises. He can set up and take down in only a few minutes.

there is also the Luggable Loo..bucket, snap on toilet seat that fits it, bags that have gel crystals in them so waste gets sealed in gel..the bags are double so you seal the inner bag and shove it back into the outer bag and toss it in the trash.

You can buy the cheaper bags at some Walmart stores and they work fine.

Get a privacy shower tent or figure out your own tarp/tent system. Works well!

Some people go to somewhat great lengths to create a loo but to create an area for this was really simple for us. We got a small changing pop-up tent from Bass Pro that goes up quickly and put in one of the large kitty litter containers ( kinda tall and square) and added a small garbage bag with a little bit of kitty litter in it. Throw it away in the morning and repeat. Perfect. It is only used at late night so I don't have to trek to the restroom. I am sometimes high maintenance and it works very well for me so most other people might find this a good choice. We have a 5X10 teardrop and could not utilize anything inside but since using the "outhouse" setup I don't think I would ever want anything on the inside.

Good idea..but the luggable loo at least has a comfy seat! Same basic idea..I have a pop up shower tent that I have not used, and a fancier one I got NOS at Goodwill..originally from Walmart.
