Sportz tent at Inks Lake outing

Postby GeorgeT » Fri Mar 17, 2006 2:27 am

I finally got to put my Sportz tent to use. My wife modified the sleeve so's it would fit around the back of my camper. She sewed a real long bungi cord into it so it would fit tight. Worked great. Liked the tent, easy to set up and take down and stow into its bag. Two screened windows and top vents allowed for plenty of air flow. Buttoned up nice at night. The EZup worked well but still need a little practice puttin' it up. My wife helped but doing it alone might try your patience. I got the side walls with it. Only used two of them. Easy to install and remove. Overall the whole setup worked well. Did get several folks that wanted to see the camper inside and ask questions. Nice time at the lake. Heres some pics of the tent and EZup.

The tension between what is good enough and what is beyond that creates the space for character to become our work.

George--

Nice looking set up. We recently bought a Sportz Tent, but the weather has not been conducive to setting it up even in the back yard. Sounds like you did some nice changes to it so it will fit your rig. Thanks for the pictures.

I love my sportz tent added just the right amount of private stand up space. I highly reccomend them.

That's a heck of a good idea. Could use it on teardrops with a smaller tent if you put a strip of J channel drip edge all the way around the door. Or just the corners, sides and tops.

You could just do the top and corners around the door but then wind could blow dust and water past. A couple hooks at the frame plus the regular J channel drip edge wouldn't be noticable.

During construction I put some 1X2 trim all the way around the back to form a lip to hold the EZup sleeve in place.
