.
Some people are getting closer to tiny trailer size. At 4 feet wide, this will be the skinniest house in the world:

It seems like there is some wasted space but maybe the main floor has to be on "legs" because of river flooding or something or maybe that ground floor is the living room or office area. ...Strange....

There is an intense interest in tiny houses in general, BUT that is way too tiny for me. What a different world we will have when these are the IN thing

I wouldn't want to live in it, either! It seems awkward. :NC I'd live in my TTT, first.

I guess if that's 'wasted' property that you can buy cheaply. If you stick accommodation in it, you can sell it rather than have it be simply a lane way or whatever. At 4' wide, the ergonomics would make it a pain to live in for sure.
Here in Vancouver, we've got the Sam Kee building, the world's narrowest at 6', but it's an insurance office, not a residence.

At least it has a wall of windows so it doesn't feel so cramped...
The builder originally had lost of the property expropriated by the city in 1912 to widen the street, leaving him with only 6 feet....so he built on it anyway. It even had public baths in the basement !
