I was sorta thinking something similar but I might just have red lights and white lights that I can change from one to the other

So a new update not much has been done I have done 15 coats of tung oil on my table top It has that wet look all the time now I'm loving it...I have started building my bar area for my Tiny house as well as my bathroom area not much to show now but maybe tomorrow I'll take some pictures of it

I decided I'd like to have a little corner bar or refreshment station I have a narrow sink that as you can see from the second picture that will be used for collecting the melted ice (also know as water) in a section down below there will be no other plumbing going to itthe hole next to the sink will be for....ok I cant give it away until I get a picture....so you all will just have to wait....

Sorry about the lack of updates had been waiting for my truck to gen my lil jeep broke down so been hoofing it for a while.
But truck got fixed and got my jeep back home so all is good now...oh ya be fore I forget

I got a frig-in trailer and not just a plain Jane ordinary trailer this trailer is only 3.5 years old and has less then 600 kms on it it was bought delivered and then the person didn't make it very far down the highway when they wrote it off. So as a travel trailer it would not be very good at all but as a frame that has no rust and is in perfect shape it is sweet. I only need to get some wheel hubs for it I'd like to get them in the same bolt pattern as my truck 5x135mm so that works out to something like 5x5 5/16 or so. So any input would be great. The trailer has a rv furnace that has never been used it has an rv instant hot water that has never been used sadly the fridge and stove are not there I presume they either got sold or were toast but I'm very great-full for the deal I got there is no possible way I could turn this down....not even a spec of rust on it...so that is my newest update I'll try and get more when the trailer arrives as we got lots of snow and it is in a back field so I have to wait but it gives me time to revise my plans....Thank you for following my build thread

Now you just need the snow to melt so you can get it home!

Yeah I think in the time that I have I'll get some of my boards and what not and store them in the back room for when it does come, it'll be good to have lots of stuff on hand....might need to throw a building party after I have the floor done.
Thanks for watching this Steve

Re: Rob's Cabin (warning lots of pictures)

Hi Droid,

I think the 'Tiny House Movement' is interesting, and has a lot of good ideas, but I also
think there are a lot of unrealistic ideas and expectations among the aficionados - just
my opinion, just an observation, not a jab at anyone. The idea of living 'smaller' and more
simply has a lot of merit too, but quite a lot of what I've run across on that also needs a reality
check. Most of that has to do with livability issues. Here's my top two areas.

One of the biggest weak spots, I think, is the "loft bed" accessed by a ladder. That would get old
ASAP in my view. Youth and flexability are not permanent. One mishap away - a
broken/sprained/"bum" arm/shoulder/leg/knee/hand/foot etc. - and access to the sleep area
is severely curtailed or out of the question. My other objection to the "loft bed", as usually
done, is the very limited headroom and the crawling around you need to do to get in and out. A
'full height' aisle provides much easier access to the bed and is much more comfortable to use,
and more accessable, by orders of magnitude, I'd say.

My other big bug-a-boo is the unit's ultimate weight. Those little houses, as most are
constructed, are VERY HEAVY ! If they're not moved it's not such a big deal, but even if one or
two moves a year would be possible/considered, you need a vehicle that can do that safely,
including adequate brakes on the Tiny House and the tow vehicle. Mountainous terrain would
just 'add' to the moving 'experience'.

When In saw your post in the Foamie section [The "Re: foam glue" thread -
http://tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?p=989584#p989584 ], relating some things you're looking
to do/considering in your Tiny House, I thought of a post I'd done earlier for one of Bob Henry's
threads on his Caboose build, that might have some info that you can use or consider when
planning and building your Tiny House. Here's that thread. It relates info on a 1950s
Double Decker house trailer, the Lighthouse DuPlex, and a 1950s pseudo Double Decker British
Caravan, the Falstaff Knight, and the approaches they take to provide bed access from
full-height aisles by the beds. I think both designs are brilliant. Both have a lot of usable space
in their interlaced spaces - ideas you may be able to use/apply in your build.
http://tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?p=871972#p871972
The only current builder I've run across doing something like this is:
http://www.richsportablecabins.com/
https://plus.google.com/photos/10431743 ... banner=pwa

Both would also let you add a set of steps from the upper bedroom/sleep area to the roof
for a roof deck area. In fact, the British Falstaff had a model that featured a roof garden.

If you want more info on these I have other links I could pass along.

Just a FYI post on this area of build concern.

Cheers,
Norm/mezmo

P.S. I posted this in your build thread to try and keep info pertaining to it together.

Thank you for that I have actually run across riches cabin and that is partially what I'll be basing my design on but I'll be using lighter building materials as well as a different build structure

Thank you for looking at my build I know it has been kind of slow lately but I'm waiting on my frame at this point and there is not much to do until I have my foundation

hI droid,

I came across this today and thought it'd be useful to you.
It shows a treatment somewhat similar to the DoubleDecker
house trailers- though not quite as useful, as I think you need
a bit more stand-up space by the bed. I like the Rich's
Cabins version better [See in "Lofts", their stand-up Lofts or
Lofts with a 'Stand-up Trough' http://www.richsportablecabins.com/photos.html ]
It still beats having to climb a ladder:

http://humble-homes.com/plans/the-mcg-loft/
http://tinyhouseblog.com/stick-built/hu ... more-27580

Here is a paint drawing I did of an updated version of the Lighthouse
DoubleDecker. The body is @ 28ft as is, but it could easily be made
smaller by eliminating one of the upper bedrooms. I'd also put the bath
in the rear and not under the upper bedroom. Doing the roof curved
front-to-back would be much easier to build than doing a side-to-side
curved roof and would give more usable space, and probably be
somewhat better aero-wise for towing - bring the front edge of the
roof down to a little below the high point of the tow vehicle.

Thanks for the links Norm, ritch's cabins has been a source of inspiration for me the one major thing that I noticed with them and from others who have purchased them the over all height is 6 inches taller then what is currently allowed on the roads for where I live, so I have bee trying to be creative in how I go about designing my trailer to make the most out of my space...I'd also like to keep it as symmetrical as possible just so I don't need to park it facing south all the time due to a lop sided roof , I really like the design of the Arthru https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?ii ... 3&cl=43361
I'm going to try and have a few surprises in my build so thank you for following it and thank you for the great advice
