Lake Ray Roberts in December?

Postby Todah Tear » Sun Sep 23, 2007 9:03 pm

Anyone interested in gathering at Isle DuBois branch of Lake Ray Roberts in December? Last year, the weather was absolutely perfect. I plan on camping there one weekend in December. If anyone cares to join me, the more the merrier ;) . I am open, as far as weekends ( Dec. 7,Dec. 7, or Dec. 14).

I think Reserve America sent something saying that registrations, for any campground, couldn't be made for a while via internet while they upgrade their website. However, I could go make them in person.

Cindy and I are open for any of those weekends. We're ready, that really added a lot to the Christmas season last year.

Good deal, the 7th seems better because of holiday stuff.
There was a little bit of talk about a campout that weekend in Missouri but nothing at all was posted , and Ray Roberts would be closer.

Would it still be cool enough at night for campfires?

Let's plan on Dec. 7th.

I just called the Du Bois Branch. They said that for December reservations, we should call Austin (512) 389-8900. As usual, the area has water and electric. Specific sites are selected when you check in. In December, I will check in on Thursday night and can reserve sites for those who paid in advance.

2. CPASparks
3. Woodie and Tammy
4. Jgp123 (James & Wife)
5. CaseyDog
6. DaveL (Dave, Cindy, and Tyler)
7. OKJewel ...maybe
8. Buck & Lise and grandsons
9. Scott and Gerri
10. Don and Debbie and dog Glory
11. Mexican Tear (Kai, Lois, Mapachi )
12. Loader(s) - for Pot Luck
13. Mark and Cindi

Let me know if I missed someone.

Okay, I have made my reservation and confirmed them. I have 4 other unconfirmed reservation numbers. They are for Dec 7 - 9. If you would like one of them, PM me and I will give you one of the numbers. What you will have to do is call the Austin number (then menu selection 114) and pay for your stay and mention your reservation #(Apparently, they have been busy busy.) The Austin people recommend you call on today, Thursday, or Friday. Those are the slowest days. If you need to change the reservation, I have added a note on these numbers that will let you do so.

Once you get the number, it will be held until Oct 2, at 6:00PM. IF you don't call in and confirm your reservation by then, the site becomes open again.

I will try to make it. Since it is about 20 miles from my home, I should be able to make it Saturday and spend that one night -- or at least bring food and join in on the Saturday pot-luck.

I'll see how things look business wise, and try to make a reservation this week, if I can.

Be sure to call the Austin[(512) 389-8900] for registration for you Dec 7th registrations. I don't know if Reserve America is up and running yet.

Also, if you get a Texas Parks card, they send coupons for 10% off the fee for one night.

Great!!!

Just bring a smile, a handshake, camera, questions, ideas, and if you don't bring anything for the potluck , don't worry about it. It seems the South Central folks know how to EAT !!!!
