Who's up for Cloudcroft New Mexico in july

Postby Coca Cola Teardrop » Mon Jan 04, 2010 10:06 pm

Ok Teardrops, I just checked on the campgrounds in Cloudcroft for July 1 - 4 2010 and the lower fir and upper fir campgrounds are available.

or we can look at a different weekend. I need input

So..........I need a rough count ASAP for who is up for this gathering.

I don't mind reserving both campgrounds and then canceling one of we dont need it.

Please voice your opinion..............The cost per vehicle will be as minimal as possible. Depending on how many attend. If we fill up both it is about $14 per unit (teardrop or tent) for the entire 3 days.

Last year we had the lower fir only which turned out to be a bit cramped.

here is the low down....

Lower fir turned out to be a bit cramped.
It has 7 pads and 13 parking spaces which only leaves room for 7 tears on pads and about 5 years in parking spaces and a few tents.

We have to stay inside the "vehicle" limit

Upper fir has 11 pads and 14 parking spaces which leaves room for 11 - 16 tears and about 6 tents.

roughly if we have 30 teardrops and 8 - 10 tents we are looking at about $14 per unit ( teardrop or tent)

Boy Linda, not making it last year, I can't help, but we'll be there this year for sure. Just a thought. How far is it between the upper & lower fir's and was there any campers in the upper fir?

Gage,
last year there were campers in the upper fir but we didn't see much of them. You know how the folks are in the big rigs.

Campers in the upper fir must drive through the lower fir to get there.

it is pretty good hill between the two, it is a good walk so some folks might prefer to drive between the group campgrounds.

Hope we fill it up

With it only being two weeks between the two, it won't be as much as what I did last June. And that's a fact. Maybe around 3000 miles if that. My doctor recommends that I don't do long road trips (5 to 7 weeks) anymore. Or at least spend more nights/days in one place.

Walk, what's that? I got a scooter now. Not enought lung power. I don't think there will be any problem filling the camp ground.

Linda, I'd love to do this trip. I just have to wait and see how the income situation works out between now and then. But, if I can afford it, I'm in.

Linda, Dave and I will try this again next summer. Last summer I wasn't up for it but maybe 2010 will be better. Put us down for a space.
