We have electrical success--and photos.

My oh my, what a day. Left porch lamp installed and the switch works:

Image

If you don't believe it works, here it is all lit up:

Image

Let's take a look inside, shall we? Left nterior lamp, with the porch lamp switch to the right of it. As you can see, it's pretty ugly, and the plate is just there for now. I'll be making a huge, special wooden switch plate which will cover the exposed wiring and other ugliness. (God bless trim.)

Image

After successfully wiring everything (a miracle), I performed yet ANOTHER miracle and installed left-side outlet here. This area will be covered with curtains. Nothing fancy shmancy,

Image

This shows my cool anchor and crab:

Image

And this shows the front, with carpeting to come. (I already bought it.)

Image

But most glorious of all is my sink--with my wife holding it to hide her face because she wants nothng to do with this nonsense at all:

Image

All in all, a very good day. And after all of the CRAPPY ones, I deserved it!

I estimate that it will take me about an hour and a half to wire the complete OTHER side, now that I know what the hell I'm doing!

As long as I don't forget...
Here we go again!

IRA,

It's looking real good there. And I knew it was just a matter of time...

But let me ask you, is your wife coming along on your camping trips? If not, you could have built a one man teardrop like Roly's 1/4 Nelson...

Mike...

The sink looks huge because she's holding it by the PVC drain pipe and pushing it forward at me in a menacing way so I'll leave her alone.

The lip is only 13" by 21", the cutout less.

Ahhh, thank you Steve. But...

That's simply smart photography.

You see, I cut the hole 3", and that was a piece of cake. The pan cuts REAL easy.

But because of the anglature of the drain (Is that a word? "Angle" plus "ature?"), you need the hole to be like 3 1/8". So right now, the drain flange doesn't sit QUITE flush with the bottom of the pan.

I forced it down, used a very, VERY generous amount of plumber's putty, but I gotta pull it all out, cut the hole a little bigger, and reinstall.

I took the photo straight on to hide this little screw-up.

Ain't I CLEVER????

And Boo--at my height, it COULD be used as bathtub. But like I said , it's only 13 by 21.

Thanks, Rob.

And as I've said before, and as I'll say again and again with no shame whatsoever:

I'm hiding inferior building skills with a really loud theme.

It's style over substance for me!!!

Lookin' good there Ira. You're making progress. Any chance you'll make it to the North Meets South gathering in August? It would be really cool to meet you there.
