Get ready for: Cabela's & TearJerkers Blast into the Past

Image

As some of you may know, Cajun Chapter Director, Stacey Ernst works for Cabela's. She has worked with the Event Coordinator at Cabela's to put together an event at the Gonzales, LA. Store for the weekend of March 19th - 21st. As this event is planned we will update this post with information as soon as it is confirmed.

Here's what is confirmed so far:

Our trailers will be in a secured, (Police Patrolled), vehicle-free side-lot with plenty of parking for tow vehicles and porta-potties near-by.

A Pot-Luck Breakfast for Saturday Morning, and a Saturday Evening Pot-Luck Supper.

A Dutch Oven Cooking Demo will be held.

Please come prepared to show off your trailer(s) as this Event is being advertised in the local newspapers.

For those of you who like to shop, you won’t have to drive anywhere to get to the World’s Foremost Outfitter!!! Also, the Tanger Outlet mall is across the highway; and there are plenty of restaurants to try out right nearby.

More to be posted as soon as I confirm the details.

Please RSVP by February 14th!

The location of the Event is an easy In & Out. It's right on the corner of Interstate 10 and Hwy 30

Aunti M.,

I believe via Memphis is your quickest route. 12 hours ain't a bad trip. :vroom:

I'm just down the road from Cabels'a. It's a three day event. If you and Mike want to show up early or stay a few day later, I've got plenty room in my back yard next to the shop(elec., water, restroom & WiFi).

 Wow thanks for the generous offer. We are going to give this some thought. We didn't get out last year and really could use a get-away! :)

FYI

This event is open to all Vintage Teardrops & Travel Trailers; Manufactured, Custom & Homebuilt Camping Trailers and Teardrops. All are encouraged to attend.
This will generate exposure to our great camping community.

If anyone is traveling some distance and needs a place to park their trailer before or after the event, I've got room at my place. Just give me a shout so I can be prepared.

A bit far for us, however we live about 30 miles from the Michigan Cabella's and it would be a way for us to promote up here on the north coast. Who did you talk to at Cabella's to arrange this?

I do understand.
I can't see traveling great distances to a three day event. If it were a day's travel, I'd consider.

Stacey(Chapter Director) works at the Cabela's Gonzales location and set this up with the Event Coordinator at the store.

Mike, I've decided to go visit my mom for 2 weeks in White Castle so I'll be able to drop by Cabela's that weekend! I'm flying in so I won't have my sweet Scotty with me but I'd sure like to come by and meet y'all. I'll shoot you a PM.
